Troubleshooting Drawer Pullback Issues with Docking Drawer Cable Management ArmsUpdated a month ago
If you’re experiencing drawer pullback with your Docking Drawer Blade Duo or Blade installation here are some tips and troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:
1. Check the Geometry of the Cable Management Arms
The first thing to verify is the alignment of the cable management arms. If the arms are not installed parallel to each other, then the cable management arms which are designed to be neutral meaning they do not pull or push the drawer the drawer may pull back will bind or pull the drawer box.
To determine if the geometry is slightly off, loosen the three screws in the rear mounting bracket. This will relieve any binding or pressure in the cable management arms so the drawer box can open and close normally. You can also see how the bracket moves to determine if the arms are not in parallel. If the arms are not in parrallel, then repositing the rear mounting bracket.
2. Break-In Period
Sometimes, a drawer pulling back slightly—about an inch or two—is a result of the cable management system being new. Since the parts were manufactured and packed tightly, they may need time to loosen up with regular use.
If the drawer only pulls back an inch or two, this may resolve over time as the system breaks in and more weight is added to the drawer. However, if the drawer pulls back significantly (e.g., halfway), this could indicate a deeper issue that requires attention.
3. Verify Installation
If adjustments don’t resolve the issue, it’s important to confirm that the arms are properly installed.
Next Steps:
- Send us a video of the installation so we can help ensure the arms are correctly mounted.
- Additionally, follow our guide on how to level and center the cable management arms to double-check the alignment
